DESCRIPTION:Summer is not over yet! We’re tying our tubes together and traveling down the Elkhorn River. With volunteer tour guides to help navigate the route and the river setting the pace\, you’ll spend the day with a smile on your face. Life jackets will also be available\, along with coolers to keep your refreshments cold. This is not something you can do in Omaha\, but we’re conveniently providing transportation from Outlook Nebraska to Tubing and Adventures and back. We must adhere to our morning departure time\, but our return time may vary slightly depending on the river conditions for that day. So pack your sunscreen\, something to snack on\, something to sip on\, and let’s send off the summer season under the sun! \nRides will be provided from Outlook Nebraska to Tubing and Adventures and back after the float is over for participants with vision. Friends and/or family members are welcome to join\, but must provide their own ride and cover the cost of their tube rental ($30). Sighted friends and family are welcome to join\, but they will have to wear sleep shades. This event is for individuals 21 years of age or older. We’re kicking off our first ride on the Field Club Trail. This 10-mile tree-covered route offers cover from the sun\, perfect for us as the weather heats up. We have a variety of bike styles and sizes to fit your needs\, from standard stand-up tandems to sit-down recumbent style bikes. Outlook provides the bikes\, helmets\, water\, and a volunteer bike captain\, unless you’d like to bring your own bike partner. No matter how fast or far you want to ride\, we can set you up with a bike captain and a bike that best accommodates you. \nWe will depart from the Community Alliance parking lot to get on the Field Club Trail. Then return to the parking lot after the ride. Community Alliance is located at 4001 Leavenworth St.

DESCRIPTION:***At this ti\,e we areThis is going to be SNOW MUCH FUN! We’ve been hitting the slopes with visually impaired folks for many years for our annual visit to Mt. Crescent. This year\, we are offering downhill snow skiing and a chance to try snowboarding. This event is for anyone 12 years of age or above\, with any level of vision loss\, and requires no previous skill or experience. The day includes transportation to and from Outlook to Mt. Crescent (for adults 19+ years)\, a lesson in the activity of your choice\, a sighted ski or snowboard guide\, lunch\, and even a new beanie and gloves or mittens donated from REI if you need them. This adventure has everything you need to make the most of winter! Whether you’re a pro at carving out the snow or new to it all and just hoping not to fall\, we’ve got a spot for you on this winter adventure. \nIf you have already signed up for the originally scheduled ski/snowboard day in January\, you do not need to register again. Someone will reach out to confirm the new details for February 22. \nTransportation is being provided by a volunteer driver so we prefer not to transport minors. Parents will need to drop our younger skiers/snowboarders off and then come in and sign a Mt. Crescent waiver prior to leaving. As always\, parents can stay and watch.

SUMMARY:Seven Art Movements - A Tactile Art Display (All Ages)
DESCRIPTION:Let’s add a touch of culture to our lives! The Joslyn Art Museum presents a tactile art experience designed for those with vision loss. It’s a multi-sensory exploration of some of the world’s most famous works of art. The installation represents seven key artistic movements: the Renaissance\, the Baroque\, Neoclassicism\, Impressionism\, Post-Impressionism\, Art Nouveau\, and Expressionism. Custom kinesthetic displays with tactile panels and touch-activated audio make visual knowledge accessible. \nEverything is more fun with friends\, so we will meet as a group to check it out and grab a bite to eat at the cafe afterward. The exhibit is free\, and you are welcome to check out other parts of the museum afterward. You will need to cover your own drinks\, snacks\, or lunch at the cafe\, though. All ages are welcome\, as are friends and family members.

Our fitness specialist\, Isaac\, can adapt any workout to match your current fitness levels or help you reach your future goals. The intensity of the workout is all up to you. You can get a full-body workout with lots of variety using body weight\, hand weights\, exercise bands\, and slam balls. Let’s get together and raise a toast to those of us using a white cane to live\, travel\, and explore the world as individuals living with vision loss. This year\, the fiesta will be at Fernando’s Mexican Restaurant. A refreshment and rides for those living outside of public transportation areas are being provided by local Lion’s Club chapters and for that we’d like to say GRACIAS! So come on\, amigos\, let’s bring the blind community together and prove that we may have less vision\, but we definitely have more fun!! \nRides provided by the Lion’s Club members may be limited in space and distance. Please register by October 1st to ensure we have time to organize rides. We will try our best to accommodate\, but there are no guarantees. \nOutside of a complimentary refreshment\, attendees are responsible for purchasing their own additional food and drinks.

The weather lately has been perfect for a cruise down the trail with a break in the middle for coffee or cocoa in Aksarben. This ride will start off at Outlook Nebraska and end at Outlook Nebraska. We’re extending our season into October (weather permitting) and invite visually impaired cyclists and volunteer bike captains of all experience levels to join. SUMMARY:Teen Rec Horseback Riding and Roping
DESCRIPTION:Howdy teens! We are planning to take an hour long horseback ride through the trails of Platte River State Park followed by a lesson on how to rope and lasso cattle. \nParticipants will have to provide their own transportation to Platte Ricer State Park. Participants or parents of minor participants must also sign a waiver from Platte River State Park. Each teen will be riding on their own horse. Outlook’s adaptive sports specialist will spaced out on horseback between teen riders to give verbal cues should a horse need directional correction. If you are scared\, nervous or uncomfortable with horses\, this event may not be right for you.

BINGO cards are available in Braille\, and large print or volunteer readers can be provided if neither Braille nor large print works for you.

DESCRIPTION:The new riverfront and Gene Leahy Mall are the talk of the town and it will be the start of our next tandem bike ride. Although parts of the official Riverfront Trail are closed due to flooding and construction\, we will start in the heart of the downtown area at Omaha’s Kiewit’s Luminarium parking lot\, bike through a bit of the park and head southbound past Lauritzen Gardens\, the zoo\, and turn around at Mt. Vernon Park in South Omaha. A total of 10 miles of trail riding! As always\, we can accommodate brand new bikers or seasoned bikers. DESCRIPTION:The guns will be reloaded for our return to the shooting range. Participants who joined us for a shooting event two years ago have been eager for our next one. \nWe will begin with an introduction and instructions from Patricia\, the owner of Incendio LLC Shooting Range in Plattsmouth. Yes\, we will be using real firearms with ammunition\, starting with 22-caliber rifles and progressing to more unique firearm options. To add to the summer fun\, this year\, we will be shooting at watermelons and steel targets\, which will give an adaptive touch\, providing a motivating and affirming sound with each hit. We aim to please with our Outlook adventures. \nJoin us in the middle of a cornfield for lunch\, a lesson\, and the opportunity to exercise your right to bear arms. Space is limited\, and transportation will be provided to and from the range starting at Outlook Nebraska.

DESCRIPTION:The Corporate Cycling Challenge is the biggest ride in Nebraska and allows you to take on a bigger challenge than our usual bike rides. There is an option for a 12-mile route or a 24-mile route. We have bike captains ready to ride no matter which route you choose. This ride starts in the Capitol District and offers a scenic\, flat journey through the Carter Lake area. DESCRIPTION:There’s nothing like an ice cream treat to help you make it through a bike ride in the summer heat. Summer break is going fast\, so let’s zoom down the Keystone Trail. Teens\, it’s time to partner up and pedal. We’re riding on two seated tandem bikes five miles out and five miles back\, with a stop in the middle for lunch and ice cream at Culver’s. \nWe have both stand-up standard tandems and sit-down recumbent tandems. With our different types of bikes and help from our experienced volunteer bike captains\, we can accommodate riders of all sizes and biking experiences. You can also bring your own bike partner if you prefer. Outlook provides bikes\, sighted volunteer bike captains\, helmets\, water\, lunch\, and ice cream.
