SUMMARY:Group Exercise Classes (Sept. 1 thru Dec. 10)
DESCRIPTION:Lose the excuses and gain strength with our adaptive group exercise classes. The group environment creates both accountability and support. Classes are led by a certified exercise science instructor who is also visually impaired along with UNO students in the same field. Exercises are described verbally instead of shown visually\, and encouraging suggestions will help ensure you’re performing the moves correctly. Workouts can also be adapted to fitness level\, age\, and goals. Let us help you set your fitness goals and make your workout what you want it to be\, whether that’s stretching\, strength building\, or simply getting some movement in. \nClasses are offered:\nTuesdays 2 – 2:45 p.m.\nWednesdays 2 – 2:45 p.m.\nThursdays 2 – 2:45 p.m. \nRegistration includes three classes a week from September 1 through December 10\, but join anytime and feel free to choose to attend whichever days work best with your schedule.

DESCRIPTION:The Adventure of a Lifetime Starts Here\nOutlook Explorers: Journey Beyond Sight Camp brings youth who are blind or visually impaired together to test their limits\, build friendships\, and discover strengths they never knew they had. Whether joining us for the first time or returning to reconnect with friends\, campers build confidence and independence in a community where they feel welcomed\, supported\, and celebrated. \nOur camp will feature adaptive sports\, outdoor adventures\, creative activities\, technology skill-building\, and a talent show. Trained staff\, adaptive sports specialists\, and camp counselors help make activities accessible while encouraging campers to try new things\, pursue their interests\, and take pride in their accomplishments. \nWe will announce the 2027 activity schedule at a later date. \nKey Details\n\nLocation: University of Nebraska Omaha\nAges: 9–19\nCost: $300 per camper (If cost is a barrier\, scholarship options are available)\nCapacity: 16 campers\n\nJoin Us As a Camp Counselor\nBring your energy and spirit of adventure to a week that can make a lasting difference for youth with vision loss. As a volunteer camp counselor\, you’ll help campers feel included\, connect with peers\, and gain the confidence to try something new. Through your support and encouragement\, you’ll help campers discover new interests and practice greater independence. \nThis is an ideal opportunity for physical and occupational therapy students\, education majors\, teachers\, and anyone passionate about inclusion and youth development.
