We can listen to the holiday tunes, smell the pine trees and peppermint in the air, taste the gingerbread cookies and feel that fuzzy feeling after a glass of egg nog, but what we are missing out on is seeing all the holiday lights and decorations draping the houses we pass by in Omaha. We are solving this problem by having and audio describer join us on this shuttle tour. The describer will bring the lights, tinsel, garland and festive figurines to life and create an audio ambiance with live detailed descriptions that reach our blind and low vision passengers through an ear bud. This added adaptation will make our tour shine brighter than the rest and make the holiday lights tradition inclusive for our group.
All aboard the party bus to tinsel town!! This run of the holiday lights tour is for ages 21 and up. You are welcome to bring Christmas cocktails to enjoy during the ride. If you prefer an alcohol-free environment, we might be able to accommodate you on the youth tour. Space is limited so we only have room for our friends with vision loss for this event. We will meet before and return afterwards to Don and Milllie’s off 108th and West Center Rd. There is MOBY access in this area.
