Adaptive Tech

Outlook Enrichment’s Adaptive Tech service provides individuals and their support systems with:

Our monthly educational sessions inform individuals and service providers about new technology, applications, and physical modifications to meet disability needs.

Our team provided 1,546 service hours in 2020. Most of these hours were focused on telecommunication access and understanding the capabilities of the iPhone/Android devices and applications.

Our Curricula

The Enrichment team has developed curricula for various adaptive and assistive technologies. These curricula encompass programs used for personal, educational, and professional settings.

Curricula range from accessing a smart device to navigating Microsoft Teams. While many curricula are available to sighted people, that training does not meet the unique needs of the vision loss community. Most are inappropriate for those with blindness or dual-sensory impairments who require Jaws, screen magnification, or applications.

Classes

Consumers in the program engage in two 1-hour sessions weekly with an adaptive technology trainer.  Additional learning opportunities are available through our monthly Tech-It-Out broadcasts on Radio Talking Book Service and live Zoom classes.

Open Lab Sessions

Open lab sessions (held every Friday) are available to current and past clients and the general public. During these sessions, you can receive additional training, help with a task, and ask any questions that you may have.

We encourage interested participants to call and let our team know they plan to attend.
