Tandem Bike Club – Ice Cream Ride

The Nebraska summers are so hot, but the Culver’s ice cream is so cold! Join us for a 10-mile bike ride on the Keystone Trail as the sun goes down. We’ll stop in the middle to beat the heat with an ice cream treat. Outlook provides the tandem bikes, helmets, water, and volunteer bike captains. You provide the pedaling power. We have standard and recumbent tandem bikes available, or you are welcome to bring your own tandem bike or bike partner. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced biker, our bike rides are a great opportunity for fresh air, fun, and fellowship.

This ride will start and end at Outlook Nebraska, located at 4125 S 72nd St.

Tandem Bike Club – Field Club Trail

Our bike rides are a bit delayed this season, but we’re excited to announce that we’ve used this time to get all the bikes professionally checked out and tuned up to prepare for some smooth rides this year! We’re kicking off our first ride on the Field Club Trail. This 10-mile tree-covered route offers cover from the sun, perfect for us as the weather heats up. We have a variety of bike styles and sizes to fit your needs, from standard stand-up tandems to sit-down recumbent style bikes. Outlook provides the bikes, helmets, water, and a volunteer bike captain, unless you’d like to bring your own bike partner. No matter how fast or far you want to ride, we can set you up with a bike captain and a bike that best accommodates you.

We will depart from the Community Alliance parking lot to get on the Field Club Trail. Then return to the parking lot after the ride. Community Alliance is located at 4001 Leavenworth St.

**CANCELLED**Teen Rec Fishing (Ages 10+)

Cast away the chaos and commotion of life with a relaxing morning of fishing. Fishing can be a good opportunity for some alone time out in nature, and Outlook’s adaptive sports specialist will prepare you with the skills you’ll need for a lifetime of angling. In the past, we have always used worms for bait, but this year we’re going to add some new food to the fish bait menu to find out what gets the fish at Halleck Park to bite! If you have your own tackle, we encourage you to bring it. Otherwise, the equipment needed will be provided during the event.

Semitruck Driving Simulator (Ages 15+)

Let’s put the pedal to the metal in a big rig 18-wheeler. No license, no vision, no problem! We are trying out the driving simulator at Werner Enterprises. So, grab your trucker hat and hop in the driver’s seat of the semi-truck and let’s hit the simulated streets. Maybe you used to drive or have always wanted to try? Well, here is your chance to figure out if you can stay in your lane or if off-roading is more your style. Rides will be available from Outlook Nebraska to Werner Enterprises and back.

Axe Throwing (Ages 19+)

Axe and you shall receive…due to popular demand, we have scheduled another axe throwing adventure. Chop down the boredom and sharpen your skills with instruction from Outlook’s adaptive sports specialist. Their instruction will ensure your technique and aim are on target. Stand back, aim, and get ready to launch. Then, based on where your axe splits the wood, you’ll be able to adapt and adjust until you stick a bullseye. We’re going full lumberjack mode. No flannels or vision are required.

Look out, Old Market, the Outlook crew is coming your way via the Omaha Patio Ride! This is a 16-passenger party bike powered by your pedaling. Don’t worry, there is a safe, sighted, sober employee from Omaha Patio Ride steering, while the rest of us get the wheels spinning, enjoy adult beverages, turn up the tunes,  and make a pit stop for pizza. This is a 21+ event. Please note: participants can bring beer or malt beverages (no glass or liquor).
