Color Outside the Lines Art Workshop – Music and Poetry (All Ages)

Lyrics to songs are like poems put to music. For this year’s writing workshop we’re inviting Matt Mason, Nebraska’s State Poet from 2019 to 2024, to help us combine music and writing. We’ll listen to clips of music or verses of songs to get inspired and create poems or short stories. Whether a song takes you back to somewhere from your past or let’s your imagination run wild to somewhere you’ve never been, we can’t wait to go there with you!

We will be writing on the spot and sharing with the group. We encourage writers to bring their preferred method of recording their poems. That could be your phone, a laptop, a Braille display, a marker and notepad or a slate a stylus. Headphones are recommended. Multiple screen readers reading at the same time can be distracting. We do have CCTV’s and magnifiers available if needed.
